Major Topics in Commercial Microbiology

This section is devoted to important developments in the commercial use of microalgae and bacteria.

The first two technologies to be looked at in detail are:

Using microalgae

to take carbon dioxide (CO2) from flue gases to help carbon mitigation and to produce valuable products

Using bacteria

to convert methane (CH4) into biodegradable plastics

Polyhdroxybutyrate (PHB) in bacteria

We will also cover new developments in other aspects of commercial microalgae and bacteria, along with anaerobic digestion and commercial-scale composting.
